- Wednesday, September 3, 2008: Climbing shoe demo at UNO's HPER building! This event is sponsored by Five Ten and UNO's Outdoor Venture Center. Canfield's Five Ten rep will have demo shoes of all the models Canfield's carries, as well as most of the rest of the models Five Ten makes. Event hours are from 5-9 p.m., and UNO is waiving their entrance fee for anyone coming in for the demo. All you'll need to do is tell the person at the entrance that you're there for the climbing shoe demo, and you'll get in for free.
- Sept. 2-14, 2008: Canfield's once-a-year Scout sale! Scout families wait for it all year, and these are this year's dates. Don't miss this chance to buy all your Girl Scout and Boy Scout uniforms, handbooks, and other Scouting items on sale! The sale prices will not be honored before September 2nd or after September 14th, so mark your calendar and don't miss it!
- Sept. 6-7, 2008: Boy Scout Troop 888 will be selling hot dogs, chips, and pop at Canfield's. Buy some lunch and help support the Scouts!
- Sept. 7, 2008: Kayak Polo weekly games at Zorinsky Lake! Enjoy sunny, cool days and a bonfire on the beach to warm up after you play. Schedule for this Sunday is: 2:00 Beginners (first time players only). 3:00 Mellow. 4:00 Agro (Aggressive play, tackling allowed). 5:00 Agro. - Sept. 13-14, 2008: Boy Scout Troop 888 will be selling hot dogs, chips, and pop at Canfield's. Buy some lunch and support the Scouts!

- Sept. 21st, 2008: Join Shelia from the Omaha Hiking Club at 9 a.m. at Boyer Chute National Wildlife Refuge. Boyer Chute is a wildlife refuge in a loop in the Missouri River about 10 miles north of Omaha. The trails are on very flat terrain through a mix of river woodlands and tall grass prairie. We'll hike around 4 miles at about a 3 mph pace. The trail is flat, mowed grass. The group will meet in the Main Parking Lot. From most parts of Omaha, take Hwy 75 north to Fort Calhoun. Turn right on Madison Street and go east a couple of blocks to the T intersection adjacent to Fort Atkinson State Historical Park. Turn right and follow the county road about 3 miles to Boyer Chute NWR. Inside the refuge, follow the entrance road and look for the second parking lot on the left. Admission is free. No pets, please.
- October 3-5: Becoming an Outdoors Woman at the Nebraska State 4-H Camp, Halsey, Nebraska. Pre-registration is required. Visit the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's BOW web page at http://www.ngpc.state.ne.us/wildlife/programs/bow/bow.asp to have a registration brochure mailed to you.
- October 5th, 2008: Cub Scout Pack 86 will be selling popcorn at Canfield's as a fundraiser. Pick up some delicious popcorn and support the Scouts!
- Wednesday, November 5th, 2008: Backpacker Magazine's Get Out More Tour: This fun and informative event will once again be hosted at Canfield's on Wednesday evening. Time to be announced. Attend a fun seminar presented by Backpacker magazine staff inside Canfield's and become a better backpacker, hiker, and camper!
- Thursday, November 6th, 2008: Canfield's 2nd Annual Ladies' Night! This event was a big hit with the ladies last year, so we've decided to do it again! Mark your calendar now so you won't miss the fun!
- November 16-23, 2008: Carhartt Days. Carhartt Days are the perfect time to get geared up in all your favorite, rugged, ultra-durable Carhartt gear. On November 16th, meet Mike Cota, Canfield's Carhartt rep, and get all your burning questions about Carhartt answered! Stay tuned for more details about this exciting annual event.
